The Little Prince Dry Red Wine is a premium, authentic Cretan red wine crafted by the renowned Karavitakis Winery. Red wine produced and bottled by Manolis Karavitakis in Pontikiana Municipality of Platanias. The grapes, which are cultivated in our private vineyards, are a variety of Kotsifali and Madilari. Harvest takes place at optimum ripening stage. After stalk removal and light crushing, classic red vinification follows with controlled fermentation temperature.

Tasting Notes

The Little Prince Red exhibits a vibrant ruby color with rich aromas of fresh red fruits, sweet spices, and a hint of Cretan herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, well-balanced, with soft tannins and a smooth, lingering finish.

Food Pairing

An excellent companion for traditional Mediterranean dishes, grilled red meats, seasoned Cretan cheeses (like aged graviera), and pasta with rich tomato sauces. Serve at a recommended temperature of 16°C – 18°C.

About the Varieties

Kotsifali offers superb aromas and high alcohol content, while Mandilari provides deep color, robust tannins, and refreshing acidity. Together, they create the quintessential Cretan red blend.
